摘要： A hallmark of infection by the pathogen Helicobacter pylori, which colonizes the human gastric epithelium, is the simultaneous activation of the classical and alternative nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-kappa B) pathways, underlying inflammation and cell survival. Here, we report that the classical NF-kappa B target gene product A20 contributes to the negative regulation of alternative NF-kappa B signaling in gastric epithelial cells infected by H. pylori. Mechanistically, the de novo synthesized A20 protein interacts with tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor-interacting protein with forkhead-associated domain (TIFA) and thereby interferes with the association of TIFA with the NIK regulatory complex. We also show that alternative NF-kappa B activity contributes to the up-regulation of anti-apoptotic genes, such as baculoviral IAP repeat containing 2 (BIRC2), BIRC3 and B-cell lymphoma 2-related protein A1 (BCL2A1) in gastric epithelial cells. Furthermore, the observed over-expression of RelB in human gastric biopsies with type B gastritis and RelB-dependent suppression of apoptotic cell death emphasize an important role of the alternative NF-kappa B pathway in H. pylori infection.

An interim prosthesis with an appropriate emergence profile and esthetics was fabricated before surgery and connected to the interim abutment immediately after implantation guided by a prosthetic template. 摘要： On most modern airliners, cabin air pressurization, heating, and renewal are mainly achieved using air supplied from the gas turbine engines during flight. This air intake impairs the motors yield and needs to be conditioned, leading to energy overconsumption. Recent advances in thermal management enable aircraft manufacturers to reduce further the intake airflow needed to maintain cabin temperature at high altitude. Nevertheless, for lower air renewal rates, an appropriate air filtration system will be needed to maintain acceptable air quality in the cabin. In this context, Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking (CS2JU) project EC2S (Environment Control Secondary System) aims at developing an integrated filtration system to be implemented in existing cabin air management systems (so-called environmental control system-ECS). The EC2S unit will include three filtration units addressing separately volatile organic compounds (VOCs), CO2, and particulate matter (PM). Circulated air in the ECS is conventionally filtered on pleated HEPA filters that generate substantial pressure drop. Since the EC2S VOCs and CO2 filtration units would generate additional pressure drop in the ECS system, electrostatic precipitation is foreseen as a low flow resistance alternative for PM removal. This paper reports the development and performance assessment of a two-stage electrostatic precipitator (ESP) designed for aircraft recirculated air filtration. The ESP prototype presents high single-pass particle collection rates (i.e., over 90% for airborne particles with an aerodynamic diameter of 0.5 mu m or larger), low-pressure drop (i.e., 4 Pa at nominal flowrate), and a limited ozone generation rate (i.e., below 8 mg h(-1)).

摘要： Jet fuels with various properties are desirable for different operational or environmental advantages, necessitating fuel-flexible technology. For example, JP-5 (A-3) and alternative jet-fuels with high flash points are favored for safe handling and other advantages. The study investigates the effects of fuel properties on the near-field spray characteristics of the relatively viscous A-3 and a more viscous alternative fuel blend (C-3) compared to the baseline fuel-Jet A (A-2) with the least viscosity, using the relatively novel twin-fluid flow blurring (FB) injection. Prior studies have acquired fine FB atomization with high viscosity tolerance compared to conventional jet-based injectors, where atomization is suppressed by high viscosity. The study aims to further quantify the FB fuel flexibility using shadowgraph and particle image velocimetry to potentially enable effective utilization of the desired jet fuels. Results show that the FB injection achieved fine sprays immediately at the injector exit rather than typical jets by conventional atomization. Nearly the same atomization completion length, within 4 D downstream the injector exit with the diameter D of 1.5 mm, was acquired for all three fuels regardless of the varying properties. Compared to A-2, the final droplets of the viscous A-3 are only 6% larger and the most-viscous C-3 are only 10% larger. It is also observed that the density of fuel affects the droplet travel distance from the injector exit to a downstream location before achieving a terminal or peak velocity. Droplet size distribution, velocity distribution, and Weber number estimate consistently reveal more turbulent bag breakup mode at the spray periphery resulting in smaller droplets, compared to the oscillatory mode yielding larger ones in the center.

摘要： Efficiency of four different calibration techniques was evaluated on 50 pesticides in tea matrix by LC-MS/MS. Further statistical testing by MANOVA, T-tests as well as PCA indicates that calibration techniques have a significant effect on the efficiency of the analytical method to counteract the matrix effects and provide the best accuracy in the quantification. Matrix effects exceeding 20% for most of the pesticides in each calibration technique clearly indicate that matrix effects should be addressed in the calibration technique. Along with the recovery assessment, descriptive and inferential statistics proved that the procedural standard calibration technique (mean recovery of 89.3%, SD of 9.14, and standard error mean of 1.29) was the better approach than the matrix matched calibration technique. The matrix matched calibration with an internal standard, without any internal standard, and use of internal standard for some selected compounds, i.e., mix mode internal standard, were also studied.

摘要： This work presents the feasibility study of utilizing neat plastic oil TiO2 nanoparticle is added as additive in the proportion of 100, 150, and 200 ppm fuelled in a stationary single cylinder diesel engine to asses the performance, emission and combustion characteristics. From the local municipality, the waste plastic bottles are collected and it it fed into the pyrolysis reactor to convert into pyrolysis oil. The results from performance analysis revealed that the enrichment of neat plastic with TiO2 nanoparticle enhanced the brake thermal efficiency than without any additives in the raw oil (plastic oil). Similarly, the results of emission revealed that smoke, and hydrocarbon are considerably reduced with increased proportion of nano additive. Results also revealed that the formation of NOx is higher with POAL200 than plastic oil and other concentration of TiO2 nanoparticle and diesel fuel. This is due to the higher availability of oxygen content in the fuel, higher quality of fuel and reduced ignition delay.

摘要： Simple Summary A large number of patients with cancer use complementary alternative medicine (CAM), such as diet supplements, massage and acupuncture, as an adjunct to conventional cancer treatment and care. Some types of CAM reduce nausea and vomiting, pain, fear, fatigue and depression, but CAM may also cause new symptoms and side effects. Therefore, it is crucial that cancer patients receive professional guidance on how to use CAM in a safe and healthy manner. Open dialogue about CAM between patients and health professionals is, however, not an integrated part of cancer treatment and care. Therefore, the aim of our study was to assess how open dialogue, including guidance about CAM, affected patients' safety and health when it was an integrated part of the cancer treatment and care. We found that open dialogue about CAM does not compromise patient safety and that it may improve patients' quality of life, self-care and survival. Complementary alternative medicine (CAM) may reduce the symptom burden of side effects to antineoplastic treatment but also cause new side effects and non-adherence to conventional treatment. The aim of this RCT was to investigate the impact of open dialogue about complementary alternative medicine (OD-CAM) on cancer patients' safety, health and quality of life (QoL). Patients undergoing antineoplastic treatment were randomly assigned to standard care (SC) plus OD-CAM or SC alone. The primary endpoint was frequency of grade 3-4 adverse events (AE) eight weeks after enrollment. Secondary endpoints were frequency of grade 1-4 AE, QoL, psychological distress, perceived information, attitude towards and use of CAM 12 and 24 weeks after enrollment. Survival was analyzed post hoc. Fifty-seven patients were randomized to the OD-CAM group and fifty-five to the SC group. No significant difference in frequency of grade 3-4 AEs was shown. 摘要： Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common type of dementia, is a serious neurodegenerative disease that has no cure yet, but whose symptoms can be alleviated with available medications. Therefore, early and accurate diagnosis of the disease and elucidation of the molecular mechanisms involved in the progression of pathogenesis are critically important. This study aimed to identify dysregulated miRNAs and their target mRNAs through the integrated analysis of miRNA and mRNA expression profiling in AD patients versus unaffected controls. Expression profiles in postmortem brain samples from AD patients and healthy individuals were extracted from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and were analyzed using bioinformatics approaches to identify gene ontologies, pathways, and networks. Finally, the module analysis of the PPI network and hub gene selection was carried out. A total of five differentially expressed miRNAs were extracted from the miRNA dataset, and 4312 differentially expressed mRNAs were obtained from the mRNA dataset. By comparing the DEGs and the putative targets of the altered miRNAs, 116 (3 upregulated and 113 downregulated) coordinated genes were determined. Also, six hub genes (SNAP25, GRIN2A, GRIN2B, DLG2, ATP2B2, and SCN2A) were identified by constructing a PPI network. The results of the present study provide insight into mechanisms such as synaptic machinery and neuronal communication underlying AD pathogenesis, specifically concerning miRNAs.

摘要： Noninvasive ventilation has become the initial treatment for symptomatic ventilatory pump failure but, when used at ventilatory support settings, can be an alternative to tracheostomy mechanical ventilation. The intermittent abdominal pressure ventilator, a corset with an internal air sack inflated by a ventilator, allows to increase tidal volumes through the raising of the diaphragm and its consequent passive descent. It has been used for daytime support for more than 70 yrs, but its knowledge among clinicians is scarce. A narrative review was performed by searching PubMed, Medline, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews using the terms "IAPV" or "pneumobelt." One hundred forty patients were cited using the intermittent abdominal pressure ventilator from 1946 until it went off the market in the 1970s, although many continued to use it. There was only one publication on its use from 2003 to 2017, but three publications from 2017 through 2021. It has been used for full diurnal ventilatory support by some patients for more than 50 yrs and has even been used throughout the labor of a mother with no ventilator-free breathing ability. The intermittent abdominal pressure ventilator is a ventilatory support alternative for patients with ventilatory pump failure. It can be effective and well tolerated and maintain quality of life without facial interfaces. More widespread application is warranted.

摘要： In this work, a HPW/ZSM-5 catalyst was prepared by impregnating phosphotungstic acid (HPW) with carrier ZSM-5 zeolite and characterized by XRD, SEM, N-2 adsorption/desorption isotherm, NH3-TPD, and FT-IR techniques. The catalytic performance of HPW/ZSM-5 was investigated by using the decomposition reaction of cyclohexylbenzene-1-hydroperoxide (CHBHP) to phenol and cyclohexanone. The conversion rate of CHBHP was up to 97.28%. In addition, the reusability test exhibited that the high durability HPW/ZSM-5 as the conversion rate of CHBHP only decreased by 3.11% after five runs. The kinetic study of the decomposition reaction indicated it was a primary reaction. The apparent activation energy of the decomposition reaction was 102.39 kJ center dot mol(-1) in the temperature range of 45-60celcius. All results indicate that the HPW/ZSM-5 catalyst has good performance and promising applications in acid catalyzed organic chemistry.
